Dr Mashiapata is the Director of Counselling and Career Development at the University of South Africa. With 18 years of experience in higher education he served as student counsellor, manager of student with disabilities services. He is the past president of the Southern African Association for Counselling and Development in Higher Education (SAACDHE) and a member of the South African Federation of Students Affairs and Services (SAFSAS).
