
Dr Birgit Schreiber (PhD) has worked in Higher Education for the past 20 years, in senior management at South African Universities and in the African context, Europe and the United States.
She was a visiting scholar, lecturer and researcher at various universities, including the University of California, Berkeley, and is on the executive of various national and international professional organisations and associations, including the Southern African Federation and the International Association of Student Affairs and Services, for which she serves as the Vice President. She is also a member of the International Board of the US based Association for Student Affairs (NASPA).
Birgit has published over 40 articles and chapters, and has presented papers and key notes at national and international events. She is on the editorial executive of the Journal for Student Affairs in Africa and on the board of the Journal for College Student Development and she is the column editor of the Journal for College and Character. She is the senior editor for 2-volume reference book on Global Student Affairs for UNESCO.
